Stacey ‘Pud’ Florer played varsity basketball for Bracken County for three seasons from 1988-1990. Florer scored 1,153 career points, putting him at 12th on the Polar Bear’s all-time scoring list.
As a junior, he scored 393 points and averaged 14.0 ppg and helped Bracken County win a district championship and make it to the region semi-finals. As a senior, he scored 665 points, averaging 24.6 ppg. He scored a career high of 40 points in the first game of his senior year in a 2-point loss to Lewis County.
Florer’s 24.6 ppg as a senior is the 5th highest average in a season in Polar Bear history. His 665 points his senior season is the 8th most points scored a season in Polar Bear history. His career high of scoring 40 points in a game is the 7th highest in Polar Bear history.
Stacey Florer also played baseball of the Polar Bears, where he was a part of four district championships in 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990.
