Sara Sticklen played basketball four seasons from 2009-2012, scoring 1,054 points, putting her 11th all time on the girls basketball scoring list. In 2011, Sara scored 535 points (6th all-time season points), averaged 18.4 ppg (8th all-time season average), and scored 40 points in a single game (5th all-time points a game). Unfortunately, Sara tore her ACL her senior year, cutting her basketball season short and ending her softball career early. Sara helped her team to a 10th Region All ‘A’ Championship in 2010 and District Championships in 2011 and 2012. She was named 10th Region Player of the Year in 2012.
Sara also played softball five seasons from 2008-2012. While official statistics are unavailable, coach Chad Persinger regards her as the best pitcher and hitter in school history during his time at Bracken County, and a Division 1 prospect before her injury. She helped her team to District Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011, and 10th Region All ‘A’ Championships in 2009 and 2011. She also ran cross country.
Sara went on to play basketball at Asbury University.
