Chad Persinger

Chad Persinger graduated from Bracken County High School in 1991. He played varsity basketball for two seasons in 1989-1990, scoring 279 points, and winning a District Championship in 1989. Chad also played baseball four years in high school, winning District Championships in 1988, 1989, and 1990. Chad went on to play basketball at Kentucky Christian College, where he was starting point guard for their NCCAA-DII National Championship team. He graduated with a degree in Education, and returned to Bracken County to begin his coaching career.

Persinger coached baseball three seasons from 1996-1998. In his first season, the team had over 20 wins, won a District Championship, and won a game in the Region. When there was no softball team in the year 2000, Chad decided to take over coaching responsibilities in 2001. In 2002, his team had a record of 3-12, but managed to pull off an upset win over Mason County in the District Finals to capture the school’s first District Championship. Persinger would go on to lead Bracken County to nine District Championships in twelve seasons, and three 10th Region All ‘A’ Classic Championships, and multiple region wins. Persinger won 212+ games, putting him in the top 30 for KHSAA softball wins.

Chad also coached middle school basketball from 1996-2009. Starting in 2009/2010, Chad began coaching the Boys Varsity Basketball team. In 5 seasons from 2010-2014. Altogether, Coach Chad Persinger won over 300 games for Bracken County baseball, softball, and basketball.
